What the Desert Looks Like…

when it’s trying hard to snow…

I counted two flakes. It is in the high 20s-low 30s. But we have a giant suck-hole that sits over the ranch, and it scatters the water to the winds. So, still no snow for us this year…

  1. My parents lived in Wilhoit for a few years, and I remember being able to watch out the glass doors in wintertime to a view like that, with the sheets of snow trying to fall all the way to the ground. But back then, we also got snow down there, sometimes lots of it.

  2. i can just feel & smell that air. that may be the most “winter” you get this year. Still, it’s so beautiful.
    I want to come home.

  3. I hope you’ll have snow, SBird. Bright, white and hopeful snow…

  4. I keep wishing for snow, but it is unseasonably warm here. I blame Bush and his damn global warming! :)

  5. We got a brief spurt of rain down here last night. I realized it was raining when I woke up and found a beagle on my head.

    Beautiful photo.

  6. It is a beautiful photo. I can actually see how hard it’s trying.

I love snow. We don’t get enough of it where I am now.
