The Butterfly or The Bee?
We need your help with a decision…despite the fact that The Bee has no clue what Halloween is, we’re in the throes of choosing her costume. Here are the running favorites…please tell me what your preference is.
I do want to make one caveat: EVEN THOUGH my daughter’s nickname is The Bee, and her referral pic said “I am a Bee,” etc., etc., try to exclude that as the reason behind your choice. Trust me, it’s on my mind enough as it is (I should dress her as a bee because that’s what’s got meaning behind it, etc.). I’m just looking for a purely aesthetic opinion.
Oh, and if you’re wondering whether I asked The Bee what HER preference was…yes, I did. She signed “all done” to BOTH costumes. I doubt she was pleased with antennae in either case.

Well…I love the butterfly. Love it! But I was drawn to the bee costume..for the very reasons you listed.
Love it! She is adorable.

Both costumes are beautiful-but, aesthetically speaking of course-I like the bee one best! ~lmc

I like them both, but the body on the butterfly is a bit too dark, so you see *wings*, not The Bee herself. And then, I just like yellow. So I’m voting for the bee costume.

Totally the bee costume!!!

Spike and I both vote for the butterfly. Spike says she looks “so cute!” in that one and I think that she looks more graceful - like she might actually take to the air.

Butterfly. Definitely the butterfly.

Butterfly! I vote for the butterfly. But they are both really cute on her. You can’t go wrong either way, but I do love the butterfly.

I think I like the bee best. (Ping is going to be a butterfly this year - her choice - so that’s cool too.)

You HAVE to find more than one Halloween party so she can wear both! I prefer the bee, but only because I know that you will have trouble with her being irritated with those big wings. I speak from experience. But they are equally cute in the cute-ness race.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm, I’m torn. I think she looks fab in yellow, but I do like the wings.

I vote for the butterfly!

Bee! It is more vibrant.

All meaning aside, I prefer the bee — she just looks cuter to me in that one. Boy I see this poll isn’t helping much — i didn’t count, but it looks pretty evenly divided.

P.S. Just read the comments a little more thoroughly and I picked the bee for the same reason OmegaMom did.

Man is she a cutie! I vote for the bee.

And Ryan says the butterfly because “it’s a little more mysterious.”

“All Done” - that’s my gurl. Love that. Lemme see. I think that I like the Bee Costume the bestest - regardless of nicknames, but both are great. Maybe I just love ELu in Yellow?

Fritzy says “flip a coin - they’re both so cute.” I say, The Bee, absolutley. Not because the Goober was a beemaster nor because of her nickname, nor because bees are paramount to pollenation….The reason I vote for the Bee costume is because it’s cute, and she looks better in stripes then black.

Butterfly. All the way. She is gorgeous in both though, so either will be good.

I vote butterfly. I just love those wings…

I vote for the butterfly, love those blue wings. But, if you are going to be outside at all then the bee outfit is more practical as you can layer clothes underneath it. Can you tell I live someplace that may see snow by Oct 31st?!

Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee.
Butterfly. The blue and black suits her.

how do we choose with such incredible cuteness???
I vote for the Bee - just to be a shit and cancel out AM’s vote

And my sister Gina says the Bee! She started giggling the moment she saw her in it. You’re going to have to close your eyes and pull one out of a hat!

Butterfly. Love the blue - it adds an air of sultry mystery, a kind of “Blue Dahlia” thing to her naive cuteness…

Oh - I wanted to add - thanks for the comments on the “calling all a-parents” post over at GFT. We’re working on trying to get some early intervention folks on the case (if they’ll ever return our calls)…and I have to add that the last couple of days she seems to be coming out of her shell a bit. We’re seeing what I call “giggle time” in the evenings, when she runs around the house, plays with everything, wants to jump on us, smiles, laughs and generally acts more like a toddler. Tonight we had a big ol’ pillowfight on the grown-up bed, and she seemed to have almost as much fun as the Peep. So we’re feeling a bit better about that. Now we just need the post-giardia/antibiotic runny poops to dry up.
There’s always something for parents to worry about, neh?

I like the butterfly. It is quite cute. Both are great though.

I like the butterfly better, she looks adorable in EITHER though! You really can’t go wrong with a beautiful little face like hers!
Comment by: Heather - 10.15.2007 - 8.00 am
So, what’s it gonna beeeeeeeeeee?
Comment by: Cavatica - 10.15.2007 - 3.17 pm
Yeah - what did you two decide? (we know the butterfly is cooler, but bee is more stripey…)
Comment by: FDChief - 10.17.2007 - 12.52 pm
If the voting’s still open, I’d go for the butterfly. She looks adorable in that costume.
